Overheard

Me: I wonder what 'Otto' is short for?

Michael: Otto isn't short for anything.

Me: Don't you think it should be short for something a little more dignified sounding?

Michael: Like, Ottototto?

Me: (laughing) I said more dignified sounding!

For the Germans maybe...

Something's lost in translation. I guess Otto is short for Otto-the-Great. I think he was some kind of Prussian head honcho back in the day.
