A Good Day

Another year older
Today was colder
Than its been in a long time.
Though the sun was shining brightly
but briefly.

Instead of cake
at the mall I ate
half a bagel
with cream cheese
because the line was too long
for a mini-cinnabon.

I spent the day
cleaning and washing
swiffer in hand and
making a soup
I learned from my mother-in-law
made with flank steak.

It was a success.
